Moved! A Small Cup of Tea

I have officially moved the blog to tumblr. ^^

It took me forever to decide on a layout, which is why the huge delay (and I went to Otakon, lol).

I'm still moving over all my links. I've realized how much cross-pollination has occurred between 'ball jointed doll links' and 'artists and photographers', so I'm trying to get everything sorted in a more easy-to-reference manner.

Here is the link!

Shadowing Haven

I stumbled across Shadowing Haven's faceup and photography work while browsing through the gallery on Den of Angels. Her interestingly multi-colored faceups and shadowy photography (no pun intended) really caught my eye! ^^

I love the delicate, gothic feel of her pictures and settings, and her faceups are quite good! I believe that she is restricted from taking splits and commission work on Den of Angels for an unknown reason, so I do not have a link to commission, but it is obvious that she is quite talented. ^^ If you're interested in seeing more from her, please visit her blog here.

CSaw Feature

I've been a huge fan of CSaw's for a while! As you can see, her photos are full of color, life and light that just radiates from the computer screen! The Thailand based photographer has a beautifully faceupped collection of Volks dolls which can be found in the sets in her Flickr, or viewed at her blog named Pastel Cottage. Robin, this Volks Miruku, really made me miss Kumiho... T_T

Her beautiful F-01 dolls also softened my originally harsh opinion of the mold with their beautiful clothes and well-done faceups. The colors in her photographs always give a serene and cheerful feeling! So refreshing (points! XD).

Her SD Lisolette makes me want one, too.... Her collection of cute girl dolls makes me die of moe! I really admire her collection and her photography! Please check her websites often for updates..... I don't post a lot, so I'll be lurking right along with you! XD

Interior Design

I've been obsessing over reorganizing my living space for a while now, and I've been scouring the internet for pictures of very small apartments with very fresh interiors. I came across a blog called 'Deco Photo Blog' in my net travels. The pictures are airy and light, and each house/apartment is given tourist treatment, with every room pictured as if you were going on a virtual tour. I can't read the text, because it's in a different language, but the pictures are enough for me.

Zeruda

... describes herself as "A 24-year-old Swede living in Germany". To me, she is one of my favorite blogging Lolitas ever! As you can see, all of her coords are fresh and well-done, and most of them are made from off-brand pieces and well-edited Bodyline or Anna House. I aspire to make a wardrobe similar in source and color scheme, so I follow her lookbook account and her blog often! She also shares my Princess Tutu love. XD

Hiatus

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've started a new job, so I won't be able to post for a while (too tired). I'll start up when my schedule's more regular. Look forward to a feature with Angel Dolls Blog, from the UK, near the end of the month!

The Magic Hour

All of these photos are from the Magic Hour PV "Last Waltz", a highly creative and imaginative, well shot, amazingly prop-tastic set of photos for their BJD band, Amorly. The PV set of photos have the look, feel and tone of a popular band's music video, and there's plenty more where this came from!
The Singapore-based group 'The Magic Hour' is magic indeed, seeming to transform their lifeless dolls into gritty, shadowy characters whose personalities seem to glow from within the confines of their excellently vignetted frames. They have a blog-type livejournal which they update, and you can join the group and watch for new things from them. I wish they had a webshop where I could buy their jewelry and fashions, or have my doll's faceups commissioned. So far, they seem to concentrate mostly on their Singapore-centric fan base, and I haven't seen any plans to really expand their market as of yet.
I know that they're really popular on DoA for their beautiful photography and extremely well-stocked sets, so I think they'd definitely have a niche already if they decided to foray Westward with their creations. But I digress!

Mori Girl

I've recently fallen in love with the Mori Girl style. I found it via Angeldolls Blog, and got redirected to the wonderful Mori Girl's blog. What is Mori Girl Fashion? You're better off looking at the expert (Mori Girl, of course). Meanwhile, you can get the gist from some of these photos...

I've always been attracted to delicate and hippy-like things, but never had a chance to pick them up and coordinate them. I had no idea what I should go for with such outdated items! But with mori, I feel inspired to create a more fresh and modern yet otherworldly feel with old items and just plain "pretty" things that I like. I can get all the grandma stuff I want now and actually wear it. XD I feel as though it's a mix between h.naoto clothing, Marc Jacobs, lolita, and American hippy with some eskimo/scandinavian looks thrown into the mix. I prefer the more delicate, cream/pink/sky blue/light brown mixes you see prevalent in the pictures I've saved here, so I may be going for that style more than the heavier brown or grey (although, I never know myself what I'll end up liking sometimes, so we'll see XD.)

Yes... I totally just put my foot in my mouth. XD I grabbed the flowiest (and apparently very dark navy blue) skirt in my closet and my most comfy top to try my first intentionally mori coordinate. I hope it worked out! I've also newly joined the Mori LJ group. It seems a lot of lolitas are on the group, but I'm not surprised - the styles share some....philosophy if you will.
I'm not a huuuuuge fan of taking pictures of myself, but I will try to document my mori evolution here!
Also, for those of you who want more Mori, head on over to the Mori Girl Tumblr.
